A Promise Made: How I became a Hearts Speak Artist

Updated: Jul 7

As an animal lover and photographer, I've always been passionate about capturing the beauty and love of rescue pets. My journey began in 2009 when I adopted Lisa-Lee, a sweet calico cat who stole my heart. With no adoption photos available, I fell in love with her story and knew I had to give her a forever home.

As I documented our journey together, I realized the power of photography in showcasing the unique personalities of rescue pets. I adopted Poly-ana, a playful polydactyl calico, and our adventures together solidified my passion for pet photography.

When I discovered Hearts Speak, a global organization dedicated to helping rescue pets find homes through photography, I knew I had found my tribe. As a Hearts Speak Artist, I've had the privilege of working with local rescues, capturing the stories of furkids who need a voice.

My journey hasn't been without its challenges, but the joy of seeing rescue pets find their happy tails makes it all worth it. I've worked with dog rescues, the SPCA, and even local horse rescue, leaving tiny pawprints on my heart with each photo captured.

Though Lisa-Lee and Poly-ana have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, their legacy lives on through my work with Hearts Speak. I'm dedicated to continuing their story, helping rescue pets find their forever homes and ensuring no pet goes unseen.

A few of the many happy tails I captured while in Abbotsford left big paw prints on my heart.
